They said that they managed to raise the stipend of house officer from 18,000 to 24,000 PGs from 22,500 to 42,500 and medical officer by 15,000 along-with Rs 3,300, which would be implemented from 1st July 2011. Government has formed a committee to bring the doctors out of the national pay scale and we are a part of the negotiations and we hope that we would be able win that too, for the doctor's community, they said. YDA Pakistan demanded private medical colleges' and hospitals to announce a pay-raise at private hospitals too as announced by the Punjab Government.
They said YDA Pakistan is a non-political organisation and had neither demanded change of bureaucrats nor wanted to destabilise Punjab government, which the other YDA group is demanding. YDA Pakistan demanded political leaders and chief ministers of other provinces to announce a similar pay package for their provinces too. They said YDA was made in July 2008 from Mayo Hospital and have always stood for the rights of the doctor's community and it was the out come of sincere efforts to get a salary raise for the doctors.
