HRW wheat bids higher

Hard red winter wheat basis bids were steady to higher on Monday, with some dealers raising prices in a bit to spur farmer selling. Temperatures rose to a high of 104 degrees F in parts of Kansas on Sunday, raising concerns over crop prospects "There's a chance for showers in central and eastern Kansas, but the west will remain dry," a Kansas trader said, adding that without timely rains, the wheat crop in the state was likely to deteriorate.
A Oklahoma trader said some country elevators were raising their bids, but farmers remained reluctant sellers. "You can raise your price however much you want, it won't make any difference when people don't want to sell," he said.
