Abbottabad offensive: Qureshi asks President, Prime Minister to quit

PPP central leader and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while terming the unilateral US operation in Abbottabad offensive, said that President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani should tender resignations.
Talking to media-men in Multan on Sunday, former foreign minister demanded to urgently convene the party's Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting, where he said he would demand the Prime Minister and President to quit. He said that if the meeting were not called, he would announce his future plan. He lamented that president had time to write an article in foreign newspaper "Washinton Times" while he had no time to address the nation.
Qureshi demanded that a thorough inquiry should be conducted into the issue. He termed unilateral US operation in Abbottabad aggression and demanded a thorough inquiry into the issue. He also proposed to entrust the headship of the inquiry to the Parliamentary Committee on National Security. He said action must also be taken against ISI director general if he is found incautious in the matter.
Urging the President and the Prime Minister to act like the true heads of state, the former foreign minister said 'it is time to save the country not the office' and both should inform the nation about facts. He lamented that president had no time to address the nation. Later, Qureshi met a number of delegations at his residence.
