Swiss franc down

The Swiss franc ticked down against the euro on Friday, paring large gains on Thursday after dovish comments from European Central Bank president Jean-Claude Trichet sent the single currency into a tailspin. The dollar index against a basket of currencies slipped slightly after rising 1.5 percent on Thursday, its biggest gain in over six months. The franc fell 0.2 percent against the euro compared to the New York close, trading at 1.2675 francs per euro.
The franc was stable against the dollar at 0.8697 francs per dollar.
