Islamabad Police arrested 18 persons from different areas of the city for their alleged involvement in car lifting, theft, gambling, bootlegging and seized one car, stolen items worth Rs 150,000, stake money and 31 bottles of liquor, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police, here on Friday.
Margallah Police arrested a car thief Sheikh Kamran son of Aurangzeb resident of Misrial Road Rawalpindi and recovered a Suzuki Mehran car (IDJ-126), which was lifted from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Earlier, Muhammad Ibrahim resident of Haripur has registered the complaint about theft of the car with Margallah Police.
Golra Police arrested a woman Fauzia for possessing 110 gram heroin while Kohsar police nabbed Altaf in possession of two wine bottles. Tarnol police apprehended a thief Umra Khan and recovered stolen items worth Rs 150,000 from his possession. CIA Police recovered a 30 bore pistol from Aman Ullah, while Sihala Police and Nilore Police nabbed Muzaffar Mehmud and Ikhlaq Ahmed for having 30 bore pistol each.
Anti-Car Lifting Cell nabbed Farhan Aslam from Jhugi Syedan and seized 27 bottles of liquor while Industrial Area Police arrested Moon Naz for having two bottles of liquor. Responding to a tip off, Aabpara Police raided at gambling den and arrested Shehzad Ali, Shafi, Siddique, Shafique, Naveed, Sultan Baig, Bashir Ahmed, Asif Maseeh and Naveed. Stake money worth Rs 9280 and five mobile phones were also recovered from them and a case has been registered against them. SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of policemen who arrested the culprits and further directed all police officials to enhance patrolling in their respective jurisdictions.
