President Asif Ali Zardari will pay a two-day official visit to Kuwait on May 7-8 who earlier visited Kuwait in February this year on the invitation of the Amir of Kuwait to participate in the celebrations marking the 50 years of Kuwait's independence.
President Zardari will meet Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah.
The President will hold official talks with the Kuwaiti leadership to further strengthen the most cordial brotherly ties between the two countries and for developing mutually beneficial economic and business to business relations. The President will meet the heads of prominent Kuwaiti business and investment groups including the Kuwait Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA).
Bilateral co-operation in the fields of trade and investment would be examined in the meetings. Trade between Pakistan and Kuwait is growing. The current trade volume has crossed 2 billion dollars. About 150,000 Pakistani expatriates in Kuwait are making valuable contributions towards the development and prosperity of the host country and also serve as a bridge of friendship between the two fraternal countries. President Asif Ali Zardari's visit will give a new momentum to the close fraternal relations, especially, in the fields of economy and trade.-PR
