Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday announced that it has no unresolved issues with the chief selector, Mohsin Khan who has threatened to step down under protest over undue interference in the selection of Pakistan Test team touring West Indies. PCB Chairman, Ijaz Butt had a one-on-one meeting with Mohsin here and termed it (meeting) fruitful.
"Mohsin and I had a fruitful meeting today and we discussed a number of matters. We also discussed some of the issues that are appearing in the media for last couple of days. Without going into the details of the matters discussed, I am pleased to inform that there are currently no unresolved issues between PCB and Mohsin," said the chairman after the meeting.
On Wednesday Mohsin announced that he was going to address a press conference at Karachi to highlight his grievances regarding interference in his job by the PCB. After hearing that PCB said addressing a press conference by the Chief Selector without seeking prior permission from the Board will be a breach of code of conduct.
However, in a dramatic turn over, Mohsin agreed not to address the media and set a meeting with the Chairman. We have today discussed the importance of bringing in clarity in the role and functions of the National Selection Committee and I have advised Mohsin that the Selection Committee has independence of taking selection decisions," said the PCB Chairman.
"To clarify our stance on some speculations that have appeared in a section of media, after having Mohsin's point of view, PCB has decided that no further action in this matter is required," he asserted. PCB will not make any further comments in this matter, he added.
