The Lahore High Court here Thursday allowed Jamatud Dawa (JuD Chief, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, to make Ministry of Foreign Affairs as party in petition seeking directions for the government to defend him in Mumbai attacks case before a US court.
The court giving time to the petitioner, directed the LHC office to issue notice to the foreign ministry for reply on the matter for May 30. The US Court issued summons to Hafiz Saeed, ISI incumbent chief and other officials on a lawsuit filed by relatives of US nationals killed in Mumbai attacks. During proceedings, Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Nasim Kashmiri said the case of Saeed falls in the domain of ministry of foreign affairs while he has not made the said ministry party in the respondent memo.
