Bulgarian inflation quickens to 3.0pc y/y in November

SOFIA: Bulgarian consumer prices rose 3.0 percent on the year in November after a 2.5 percent increase a month earlier, mainly due to an increase of food prices, data from the statistics office showed on Thursday.

Consumer prices rose 0.4 percent on the month in November after increasing 0.6 percent in October, the office said.

The finance ministry forecasts EU-harmonised annual inflation at 1.4 percent at the end of this year, mainly due to recovering global oil prices. It sees inflation picking up 1.6 percent at the end of 2018.

Under the EU-harmonised index, where non-food prices have more weight, consumer prices rose 1.9 percent on the year in November and 0.3 percent on a monthly basis.
