The print and electronic media in France has turned its eyes on the visit of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to Paris, as newspapers carried the stories with leads and banners and television channels flashed it in their news bulletins. The French media highlighted Gilani's first official visit to the European Union country, with much focus on bilateral relations that encompass a cordial history spanned over decades.
The French dailies Laa Figaro and La Monde issued supplements and special reports on Gilani's three visits, which include meeting the French leadership to discuss co-operation in security and trade. Large-sized coloured photographs of Prime Minister Gilani adorned the front and back pages of the leading French dailies, which were taken upon his arrival and while laying wreath at the memorial place of the Unknown Soldier of the World War I. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to interact with French media and give interviews to the leading newspapers and other television channels before concluding his visit.
