The Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hassan, has announced Protest Day on Friday, (tomorrow), against the increasing US interference in the country, the slavish attitude of the rulers, the grave threats to the country's independence and the direct American army actions in Pakistani cities. He has appealed to the nation to join the protest by rising as one man for the defence of the country's independence and sovereignty.
In a statement here on Wednesday, he said, the Americans had failed to produce any proof of Osama Bin Laden's martyrdom and it seemed to be a proxy activity due to which Pakistan's independence and sovereignty had become a question mark. "The US was making military operations in our cities without any obstruction because of which the nation felt deeply insecure whereas the rulers had demonstrated total US slavery and sell out of the country's honour and dignity. It showed that the rulers attached greater importance to the US dictates than to the national independence", he added.
The JI chief said that the enemy was playing with Pakistan's solidarity and sovereignty by openly violating its territorial boundaries. The US terrorists were freely moving about all over the country, while the national security institutions and the defenders of national borders were fast asleep. He said things had gone much beyond the drone attacks and the US had announced an open war against this country. The Americans did not feel the need to inform the Pakistani rulers and army of a direct action inside this country.
Syed Munawar Hassan said that the nation would have to sink its differences and rise above all expediencies for the defence of its independence and sovereignty and to get rid of the US slaves ruling the country.
