Capital police on Tuesday arranged a special workshop for students of various educational institutions. The objective of the workshop was to educate the students about traffic rules and inculcating better understanding for maintaining road discipline. The day-long workshop was attended by students from 12 different schools of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The participants showed keen interest in various informative sessions.
They were given tips about the road safety and also brief introduction about the functioning of various wings of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP). The students also spent some time with the education team of ITP at Traffic Park. Superintendent of Traffic Police Mir Waiz Niaz distributed membership cards of traffic police among the students.
He said that the purpose of holding such workshop was to inculcate sense of responsibility among students from the initial stage. "Children are our asset and positive change can be brought in society through giving them better education about traffic rules," Niaz added. Students of Sadiq Publi School, Rauf Public School, Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB), FG Higher Secondary School, Divisional Public School, Jinnah Preparatory, OPF School, Al Ehd School and Happy Land School participated in the workshop. At the end of the workshop, the students showed commitment to play a positive role in maintaining traffic discipline in the city.
