Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has posted Rs 117.584 million as profit after tax in the quarter ended March 31, 2011 as compared to after tax loss of Rs 525.973 million in the corresponding quarter in 2010. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held here on Tuesday declared the company's earning per share at Re 0.14 in the period under review against per share loss of Re 0.63 in the same period last year.
On nine month basis, the company posted Rs 2,230.702 million as profit after tax translating into earning per share of Rs 2.66 in the nine month period ended March 31, 2011 as compared to after tax loss of Rs 306.494 million with per share loss of Re 0.37 in the same period last year.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the company's sales increased to Rs 94.808 billion in nine month this year against Rs 92.004 billion in the same period last year. However, the company's sales declined to Rs 29.589 billion in the quarter ended March 31 against Rs 31.635 billion in the same quarter last year.
The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 3,432.583 million in the nine month period this fiscal year against Rs 104.677 million earned in the same period last year while the company's profit before tax stood at Rs 180.428 million in this quarter against before tax loss of Rs 370.210 million witnessed in the same quarter last year.
