The profit after tax of Bank Al Falah Limited (BAFL) has increased to Rs 929.677 million in the quarter ended March 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 586.489 million earned in the corresponding period in 2010. The board of directors of the bank in its meeting held on April 23, 2011 at Abu Dhabi declared that the bank's earning per share has increased to Re 0.69 in the period under review against Re 0.43 in the same period last year.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the bank's mark-up/return/interest earning increased to Rs 10.694 billion in this quarter against Rs 9.224 billion in the same quarter a year back while mark-up/return/interest expenses stood at Rs 6.247 billion same as the last year. The bank's total non-mark-up/interest income increased to Rs 1.247 billion against Rs 1.034 billion while total non-mark/interest expenses increased to Rs 3.349 billion against Rs 2.852 billion.
