Families of martyred: PBM to give 5,000 per month to acknowledge sacrifices

Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) will give Rs 5,000 per month to families of the martyred of Capital Police, as an acknowledgement of their sacrifices in the line of duty, said Zamurad Khan, Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal here on Monday.
"We have to show solidarity with the families of martyrs to make their lives problem-free. Moreover, the children of martyrs will be educated in the best institutions of the country," Khan said this while distributing cheques of Rs 60,000 among the family members of Islamabad Police cops who laid down their lives in the line of duty, wheel chairs were also distributed among the handicapped police men.
He said that orphans have the first right on PBM and showed his committed that he will leave no stone unturned for their uplift. Khan used the term 'special friends' for disabled persons, saying that their financial help would be ensured. He said that Pakistan Sweet Homes are being established for the orphans being adopted for next 14 years.
He said that the best boarding and educational facilities are being provided in the Sweet Homes. "I am very happy that commitment which I made at the time of assuming charge of MD PBM has been fulfilled and philanthropists are very much co-operating in financing the Sweet Homes," he maintained. He vowed to resolve the problems of the martyrs, manage the education expenses of their children and provide financial help in marriage of their daughters. He said PBM has been made corruption-free, as donors have started contacting the institution due to its good reputation.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Wajid Ali Durrani, said that 43 policemen lost their lives in the line of their duty. He appreciated PBM for announcing financial help to families of corps who sacrificed their lives in fighting terrorism and said this gesture will further encourage police force to perform more efficiently.
Later, the IGP presented shield to Managing Director PBM and also visited the hospital at police line. They also laid floral wreath at the National Police Martyrs Monument established at Police Line Headquarters. DIG (Operations) Bani Ameen, DIG Headquarters Ahmad Makkram, DIG (Security Division) Dr Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, SSP HQR Zubair Ahmad Hashimi, senior police officials, family member of martyrs were also present on the occasion.
