At least four persons including an alleged criminal and a cop were killed in separate incidents at different parts of metropolis here on Saturday. According to details, a man shot himself when a spiritual healer blamed him to steal the money from his relative's house at Korangi.
The tragic incident took place at sector 32-C of Korangi no 1 where 19-year-old Nisar Ahmed, who lived in his relative's house and worked in yarn factory of his brother-in-law, committed suicide over an allegation of larceny by a spiritual healer.
Police said that the victim's brother-in-law, whose around Rs 28,000 was stolen few days ago, approached a spiritual healer to catch the thief. But the healer held Nisar responsible for the said act. Therefore, the victim Nisar reacted on the said allegation by shooting himself. Following the incident, the area people gathered at house and shifted the body to hospital. The victim was unmarried and used to live in his relative's home.
Police said that they were striving to nab the said spiritual healer. They said the case would be registered after the victim's burial rituals. In another incident, the Sindh Rangers on Saturday claimed to have killed an alleged Lyari gangster in an encounter in the limits of Malir Cantonment police station.
Police said the Sindh Rangers, who had arrested an alleged Lyari gangster namely Shazeb alias Ram Jane son of Hashim at Gulshan-e-Roomi and recovered TT pistol from his possession, were come under attack near Gulshan-e-Mehran by unknown armed men when they were on the way to give his custody to the police.
The Rangers on retaliation killed Shazeb, who tried to escape from Rangers possession under heavy gunshots. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) while police registered a case against Shazeb and his other accomplices on the complaint of Rangers' inspector Shabir Hassan. A 45-year-old year woman was shot dead over land dispute at Azam Basti in the limits of Mehmoodabad police remits.
According to police, the victim Hanifia Bibi wife of Arshad, a resident of Azam Basti Street no 10, was targeted by unknown armed assailants at her house over land dispute. They said the deceased, who was the mother of four, tied the knot of her son with the daughter of her brother-in-law to resolve the land dispute. But, the same was not sorted out and her brother-in-law got divorce of her daughter forcibly. No case was registered so far while her family members after her burial rituals may nominate her in-laws in the case.
A Police constable (PC) was gunned down near Link Road Mawach Goth within the remits of Maripur police station. The victim 35-year-old Liaquat son of Ali, a resident of Metrovil, was targeted when he was on the way to home from work near link Road Mawach Goth. He received two bullets and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico legal formalities. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
