Inspector General (IG) National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Zafarullah Khan said that prompt and meaningful help to the road users would be ensured on highways and motorways. "Public friendly policing campaigns will be continued to establish friendly police public environment", said Zafarullah Khan during his visit to NH&MP North Office here on Thursday.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abbas Hussain Malick, SSP Operations Motorway Police Farooq-e-Azam, SSP Muhammad Saeed Wazir and SSP Ali Ahmed Sabir Kiani were also present at the occasion. DIG Abbas Hussain Malick briefed the new IG NH&MP regarding the performance of last 5 years of North Zone. DIG and officers of Mobile Education Unit of Motorway Police informed and briefed the new IG NH&MP regarding the functioning of Mobile Education Unit and way of delivering road safety lectures.
IG said that joint patrolling along with special patrolling squad at crime infested areas would be ensured to minimise highway crimes. IG further said that special gift pack would be arranged by road safety officer NH&MP for the children to distribute during public friendly policing campaign and all the available resources will be utilised during this campaign.
