Dawood Public School has conferred 100 students of class VIII with the certificates of the completion of Quran in an Aameen ceremony. The written examination as well as oral viva was supervised by external Aalimas examiners in an Aameen ceremony.
Aameen ceremony is a long standing tradition of the school, in which every student by the time she reaches class VIII has been tutored to read the Quran, is awarded with "Sanat" (certificates of completion), with their proud mothers looking on in the audience.
Dawood Public School is the only O-level school that provides Quranic classes for its students as part of its curriculum. Students from class I begin Nazrah and step by step are taught to memorise a total of 16 Surahs (from Surah Duhaa to Surah Naas), Surah Yaseen, assortment of daily prayers, Ahadees and eventually complete the reading of the Quran in class VIII with knowledge of Fiqah (uttering of letters with reference to the organs of speech-lips, tongue, and throat).
Mothers of students appreciated the efforts of the teachers and school management for offering the Quranic education in the school in such an organised manner. They emphasised on the importance of offering Quranic education as they themselves are unable to impart religious knowledge at home so effectively.-PR
