At least eight persons including a woman were killed in different mishaps at various parts of the metropolis on Tuesday. According to details, a strangled body of 24-year-old married woman was found in mysterious circumstances near Lasbela roundabout in the limits of Solider Bazaar police remits.
The victim, who was identified as 23-year-old Ponam wife of Rajesh, was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for post mortem. Police said the body, which was half-nakedly found in a washroom of a flat located at second floor of Prince Avenue near Lasbela roundabout, had several torture marks. Police said the medical report was yet to be finalised while they were of the view that she might have been raped before having been murdered.
Furthermore, they said that she was a mother of one and her husband, who was on duty when the incident took place, was serving as waiter at one of the three-star hotels. No case was registered till filing of this report. An employee of Fauji Fertiliser was shot dead by the bandits near Jogi Moor in the limits of Shah Latif police station.
The incident took place at Jogi Moor when two armed men, who tried to stop a Fauji Fertiliser van (JE-9739) for looting purpose, opened indiscriminate fire on it. Resultantly, a strayed bullet claimed the life of the company's technician namely Ziaullah, 22 son of Rahim. Police said the victim, a resident of Mominabad Orangi Town, was technician in the company. Police registered a FIR 295/11 against unidentified men on the complaint of factory officer Asmatullah and initiated probe in this connection.
In another incident, a youth was shot dead in Taiser Town in the limits of Surjani police station. The victim 20-year-old Naseem son of Hanif, a resident of sector 7-C of Taiser Town Surjani, was targeted by three unidentified men when he was standing outside his home. Resultantly, he received single bullet and succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH). Police said that he might have been murdered over personal enmity. A case 202/11 was registered against Javed, Arif and Humayun on the complaint of victim's brother Talat.
A bullet-riddled body of youth was found at Sirajudullah college ground in the jurisdiction of Sharifabad police station. The victim, who was later identified as Najam-ul-Haq son of Mansoor, a resident of Apsra Apartments Liaquatabad, was found from the college ground.
Police said that they had also recovered a pistol from the place, adding that the victim was a gangster and he might have been killed by his accomplices. The body was shifted to ASH for medico legal formalities and later handed over to his family. Police registered case against unidentified men and initiated probe.
Yet another man was gunned down while two other injured near Rehman Hospital Banaras in the precincts of Pirabad police station. An armed clash between two groups near Rehman Hospital Banaras Orangi Town, claimed a life of 35-year-old Iqbal son of Adam Saaz while injured two others namely Faqeer son of Habib Ur Rehman and Sardar, 32, son of Wazeer. The victim body and injured ones were shifted to ASH for medico legal formalities and medical treatment. Police said they had also recovered a 9MM pistol from the possession of victim, who was allegedly a land grabber and was murdered by his rival group. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A man was stabbed to death while other sustained injuries in a fight near Sindh Madrassah Islam in the remits of Mithadar police station. The victim 22-year-old Adam Khan son of Mehboob Khan, a resident of compound situated at near Sindh Madrassah Islam, scuffled with his relatives Asal Khan and Azmat on the wee hours of Tuesday. Resultantly, Adam sustained fatal wounds and died on the spot, while Asal also received dagger injuries. After the incident Azmat managed to flee from the scene while police shifted the body and injured to CHK.
A man was crushed to death near Dak Khana stop Liaquatabad in the remits of Super Market police station. The victim 22-year-old Zubair, a resident of same area, was hit by speedy vehicle while crossing the road. Resultantly, he was seriously injured and succumbed to his injuries during treatment. No case was registered till filing of this report. Yet another man was killed in a road mishap near Habib Bank Chowrangi in the limits of Site B police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained. The body was shifted to ASH for legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification.
