Indonesian culture show held

"Indonesian Culture Show" was organised by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia here on Sunday at Park Towers, Clifton. The show was held amid the inauguration ceremony of annual Travel Festival of Park Towers. Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi Rossalis R Adenan kicked off the show by hammering on a ring.
Speaking on the occasion as a chief guest Consul General Indonesia Adenan said that Pakistan and Indonesia have long lasting brotherly relations. He highlighted several similarities between the two countries including Muslim majority in population.
He shed light on various features of Indonesia and told the audience that besides several beautiful Islands and locations, Indonesia has three time zones. "We want to encourage people to people contact between the two countries, besides providing them opportunities to explore each others' countries," he said.
Consul General Indonesia further said that the joint efforts of both sides reflect the close and sincere relations between the countries and are evidences that Indonesia and Pakistan are tied not only in economic relations, but also of brotherhood and harmony.
Later while talking to media he said that in his viewpoint both of countries have huge potential to play a significant role in the region and both would do so if they further enhance their bilateral relations.
Cultural Attaché of Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi Ms. Mertia Yenni said that Pakistan and Indonesia have not only similarity in values and culture but both have same problems also.
She elaborated that both the countries have same values including harmony, brotherhood, and kindness. People of both countries are combating similar issues such as poverty and terrorism but they are not afraid of bullets and bombs. Commenting over power of culture she said, "Culture itself is a power to enhance relations". She stressed the need of cultural delegations' exchange between both the countries.
Later Indonesian children showed beautiful performances over their traditional dances including Tanjung Katung, Piring, Badindin and Poco poco dance. Performers were admired by spectators with claws of applause.
Indonesian children performers including Zulaikha, Reema, Mohammad Rizky, Fachrul, Dadi, Sekarini, Nuka and Syamira also interacted and exchange their views with their Pakistani hosts.
They said while talking to guest that Pakistan is a good place to visit, people are very nice here. They said that though law and order situation is spoiling the image of the city but indeed Karachi is a good city. One Dadi, who was student of 4th grade added, "I think I would miss Karachi when I left."
Director Marketing Park Towers, Zehraa said on the occasion that it is the 10th annual travel festival of the towers. Each year a country is promoted.-PR
