French office sees wheat exports score new record

Farm office FranceAgriMer on Wednesday raised its monthly forecast for France's soft wheat exports outside the European Union this season for the sixth time in a row to a new record of 12.75 million tonnes. The revision, linked to the fast rhythm of exports in France, was 150,000 tonnes higher than its March estimate and 30 percent above the volume exported in 2009/2010.
The rise in exports was compensated by a drop in its forecast of sales to other EU member states and a rise in its estimates for imports in the country and delivered crop. This led the office to raise by 100,000 tonnes its estimate for France's soft wheat ending stocks at 2.3 million tonnes, against 3.4 million tonnes at the end of last season.
