Capital police foil dacoity bid, arrest two

Islamabad Police foiled a dacoity bid by arresting two dacoits red handed, besides arresting six outlaws and three beggars from different areas of the city. Margallah Police arrested two dacoits red handed when they were trying to flee after committing dacoity in a house in sector G-9/3 after injuring one of the house inmate, Naeem Iqbal spokesman of Islamabad Police said, here on Saturday.
He said that three armed persons entered house of Jehanzeb in G-9/3 and snatched cash, gold ornaments after taking the inmates on gunpoint. They also injured Alam Zeb for offering resistance on the occasion. SP (Saddar) Dr Khuram Rasheed, SHO Margallah police station Ashraf Kahut and police team including beat in-charge Inspector Ghulam Rasool reached the spot soon after getting the information and succeeded in arresting two dacoits and confiscating a pistol from their possession. The dacoits namely Minhajuddin son of Jameel of Doaba Kohat and Sanaullah son of Bismillah of Quetta were residents of Bangish Colony Rawalpindi. Initial police investigation claimed that the arrested criminals have committed several robberies in Islamabad and its adjoining areas, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, Islamabad Police arrested nine persons including three beggars and recovered 1,300kg charas, 16 bottles of liquor, one pistol and looted items worth rupees 120,000 from their possession, he said. CIA Police stopped a car LK-527 during routine patrolling and recovered 15 wine bottles from it. Car occupant Naveed alias Imran was arrested. Sabzi Mandi Police arrested Faisal Mehmud and Khalid Khan for possessing 1,300kg hashish and one 30 bore pistol while Shehzad Town Police nabbed a bootlegger Shahid Aslam.
Golra Police nabbed two thieves Muhammad Gul and Ghani-ur-Rehman and recovered stolen items worth Rs 120,000 from them. In its move against beggars, Islamabad Police nabbed three female beggars and registered cases against them.
SSP Islamabad has appreciated the performance of Margallah Police team as well as beat officers. He said that new beat system has been revamped in the Capital for effective policing and police officers assigned responsibilities. He directed police officials to further intensify campaign against anti-social elements and make effective patrolling in their respective areas.
