The Sindh Minister, Shazia Marri, performed the inauguration of a flower exhibition and spring festival here on Thursday evening. Speaking on the occasion, she said that flowers and greenery are part of nature of human being because these beautify surroundings with natural fragrance and help reduce pollution.
Shazia lauded the availability of a large variety of flowers in exhibition specially the saplings of cactus other rare and imported flowers and said that the collection of saplings and variety of flower seeds and fertilisers available in exhibition is a great opportunity of new learners of gardening. She appealed the parents to bring their children to the exhibition, which can help the new generation to learn about the importance of flowers and greenery.
Marri, who hold the portfolio of electric power, also said on the occasion that the government is making all out efforts to enhance power generation to fill the gap between availability and utilisation of electricity and that 'we will ensure to reduce load shedding at minimum possible level'. She further said that the Sindh province has got right of ownership of 50 percent share on its oil, gas and other natural resources under article 172 (3) through 18th amendment of constitution.
Marri said that the government of Sindh has planned to develop four dormant gas fields of the province which have not been developed and utilised by Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) having possession of these fields since last many years. She said that through the development and utilisation of these gas reservoirs, the government will hopefully succeed to overcome shortage of power while the industrial sector will also get uninterrupted gas supply.
