Pakistan Manpower Institute (PMI) trained 11,200 officer from public and private sector from the date of establishment of institute so far. PMI was established in 1975 for the research and training for the human resource development and management with focus on labour related issue for the officers and executives from public and private sector organisations.
Talking to newsmen on Friday, PMI Director General Muhammad Azam said that PMI was an attached department of Labour Ministry and institute has so far organised 259 national/ regional training courses and seminars/workshops on most important themes such as employment, income and resource mobilisation through local level planing.
He said that PMI also offering different courses including human resource development planning, human resource management, manpower planing and economic development, labour market information for employment and human resource analysis. Muhammad Azam said that PMI also hold various courses and seminars with the co-operation of international labour organisation, Japan institute of labour, network of national institutes for labour studies of Asian and pacific countries.
