The Lahore High Court adjourned to April 1 the hearing the case of Jinnah Hospital missing doctor Ali Abdullah as defence ministry informed the court that the case has been referred to Judicial Commission for missing people. Earlier Deputy Director legal in the ministry, Hussain Shahbaz appeared before the court that the petitioner, father of missing doctor, had also approached the commission individually.
The officer said as many as 392 cases were registered with the commission, out of which 138 were pending while remaining had been disposed of following recovery of missing person or any other reason. Dr Sarfraz filed the petition for recovery of his son Dr Ali Abdullah allegedly taken into custody by ISI. However, ISI assured the court that Dr Ali Abdullah was neither in its custody nor he was wanted in any case.
Petitioner submitted that his son Dr Ali Abdullah worked in Jinnah Hospital and was missing for several days. He alleged that personnel of secret agencies abducted him when he was on his way to home from the hospital. He prayed to the court to issue directions for federal and provincial government to get his son recovers and produces him before the court.
