Value-Addition and Innovation in Textiles: NTU invites stakeholders to resolve problems

The National Textile University (NTU) has chalked-out a Plan to invite all the Stake-Holders of the Textile Sector immediately after International Conference to sit together and settled the problems faced by the Textile Sector of the Country.
This was disclosed by Rector NTU, Dr Niaz Ahmed, while addressing 2-Day International Conference on the Topic of "Value Addition & Innovation in Textiles". He said that in addition to stakeholders of Textile Sector, the Government Organisations like Ministry of Textile Industry, the Ministry of Commerce, Power, Petroleum & natural resources would also be invited to participate in the stakeholders Meeting and solve the problems being confronted by the Textile Sector. He said that the NTU is also going to co-ordinate with other Institutions through Higher Education Commission so that we should collectively help our Textile Sector by providing Qualified and Competent Human Resource for this importance sector of the economy.
Dr Niaz further told that the NTU has also planned Mega Event of Textile Machinery Exhibition to be held in October 2011, This Exhibition, he added, would surely help our Textile Sector to improve quality and productivity of their products through use of latest technology.
He acknowledged the services of Higher Education Commission in providing higher education in the country and said that the NTU cannot forget the support of HEC because the higher education sector has grown significantly since its establishment. He told that large number of students of Pakistan are pursuing their higher studies in various local and global universities and it is striving hard to bring Pakistani Universities in top of 200 universities of the world and to improve relevance of research and the quality of higher education in the country.
Winding up his address, Rector Niaz Ahmed told that the NTU has been the premier institute in textile education and is meeting the technical and managerial human resource needs of almost entire textile industry of Pakistan. He claimed that the Graduates of the NTU are serving more than 90 percent of the Textile Industry and thus make this learning institute at the top in Textile Sector.
Dr Golden of Marmara University (Turkey) Farhan Rizwan Hussain of Textile Institute and Owais Raza Siddiqui of NED University, Karachi, Dr Zulfiqar Ali Malik of NTU, Dr Khalid Pasha of NED University Karachi, Dr Uzma Syed of Mehran University, Jamshoro, Dr M Hussain Malik of NTU, Irshad Hussain of LUMS Lahore, Nazar Kalwar of Sindh University, Muhammad Zafar of Bolton University (UK) and Dr Farman Ali Shah, Mehran University, Jamshoro (Sindh) also spoke on the occasion and presented their Research Papers in the Conference.
