With the year almost coming to an end, Sony’s PlayStation 4 is still dominating in markets as compared to Microsoft’s Xbox One and Nintendo’s Switch.

A report on December 3 showed that the PlayStation 4 lead the way by reaching up to 70.6 million consoled being sold, which are double the sales of its closest competitor, Xbox One. Though Microsoft does not report sales numbers for Xbox One console, but estimates suggest it lie between 30-40 million units being sold.

Top 10 popular games coming up in 2017

Business Insider reports that from July to December, Sony sold more than seven million PlayStation 4 consoles. Even 2017’s Nintendo’s Switch managed to sell only 4.7 million units in its initial four months. Where Nintendo estimates that it can sell approximately 14 million Switch consoles in its first year, Sony aims to sell 18 million PlayStation 4 in the same amount of time, making itself the most popular gaming console of all time.

PlayStation 4 was launched back in 2013 and was cheap as compared to Xbox One. Along with being more appealing, the console came in with exciting exclusive blockbuster games including ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ and ‘Bloodborne’, which contributed to its success, wrote Yahoo.
