Sindh Assembly session: PPP lawmakers accuse PML-N of creating division between Sindh, Punjab

The fresh remarks of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan stoked up another debate in Sindh Assembly, as many of the ruling PPP legislators accused PML-N of creating division between Sindh and Punjab provinces and warned it to refrain from the 90s political tactics against the incumbent central government.
Chaudhry Nisar's remarks that in the difficult times President Zardari wears Sindh cap and Ajrak, caused tumult in Sindh Assembly on Monday. However, Speaker Nisar Khohro cautiously allowed Imran Laghari to table a privilege motion against Chaudhry Nisar in the house. The speaker told Laghari the condition of his move's admissibility under Rule 60.
Khohro asked him to prove the motion with substantial arguments to satisfy the members, who would have ultimately to vote for its admissibility and allowed him for 15 minutes to speak on his motion. Laghari alleged PML-N of continuing the stereotyped politics of the 90s in the present day situation, alleging that the Punjab's rulers are carrying a military dictator's legacy. He warned PML-N in a strong clamour "enough is enough".
He said that Chaudhry Nisar's remarks had hurt the public sentiments in Sindh and were against the province culture. He said PPP would not tolerate the tactics had been used against its leadership in the 90s. It is not clear whether an identical privilege motion, which Saleem Khursheed Khokhar tabled, is accepted by the speaker or not.
However, in a short speech Khokhar said Nisar's remarks were as an attempt to divide Sindh and Punjab provinces on political grounds. Pir Mazhar in a bid to support the motions tried to paint the issue with a sentimental stunt calling Sindh as mother of Pakistan and remarks against its culture had hurt the feeling of its people.
When Sharjeel Memon stood up and tried to speak about the remarks of Chaudhry Nisar, Nisar Khohro restrained him and did not allow him to speak. Sharjeel appeared defiant to the speaker's ruling and continued his speech against Chaudhry Nisar and PML-N. But, the Speaker seemed sent the motion to the Sindh Assembly's committee on rules, procedure and privilege and said to let the concerned committee decide on Chaudhry Nisar's remarks.
Despite the speaker's decision, Sharjeel Memon continued to speak, which disturbed Nisar Khohro and asked him why he had not participated, when debate on the motion was open and angrily said that no one would be allowed to say a word on the issue anymore.
The speaker said when Sindh Assembly members were dubbed as "RAW's agent" for fighting water share of the province and against the construction of Kala Bagh Dam and Greater Thul Canal, the then speaker had sent the privilege motion to the same committee. "Which I do now," he said.
Nisar Khohro tries to run the Assembly affairs in line with the rules and procedures with an impression of impartiality. But often it appears that the ruling PPP members take the speaker's political affiliation for granted and ignore his advises and rulings during the session.
A resolution, which Khursheed Khokhar presented asking the provincial government to request the federal government to nominate the assassinated federal minorities affairs' minister for the noble prize for his services to create religious harmony in the country, was adopted unanimously by the house. Later, Sindh Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad Ayaz Soomro presented a Bill, the Shahdadpur Institute of Medical Sciences in the House. Speaker announced that as after the 18th Constitutional Amendment provincial assembly had to complete 100 days of sessions instead of 70, the provincial legislature had completed its 101 days of sessions. MQM continued its boycott of the assembly session. The Speaker, later, prorogued the session.
