Vice President of Karachi Peace Jirgah Roidad Khan was gunned down in the limits of Gulshan Iqbal police station on late Monday. According to details, two unknown armed pillion riders fired multiple shots on him when he was going on his Parado BD-7705 along with his driver named Zafar, 26 near Gulshan roundabout. Resultantly, he received five bullets and succumbed to his injuries on the spot while his driver sustained a single bullet wound.
The deceased, was the resident of Block 7 of Gulshan Iqbal and hailed from Mehsud tribe of Waziristan, used to run a Hino Showroom in Sher Shah Area. The victim was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem.
The funeral prayer of late Roidad Khan, who was the son of ex Senator Sakhi Jan, was offered in Huda Masjid at Gulshan Iqbal, which was attended by Shahi Syed along with other politicians and prominent figures. Later he was laid to rest in Jahjar Goth graveyard.
According to an investigation officer Zulfiqar Hyder Jafferi, the police had recovered six empty shells from the spot and registered a case 182/11 under sections 302-324/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code. He said that they are working on the sketches of the assailants with the help of eyewitnesses.
