The Supreme Court on Monday granted bail to former federal minister Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, who is accused of attacking Balochistan chief minister and referred his case to Balochistan High Court (BHC). A three-member bench headed by Justice Javed Iqbal with Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed and Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa directed BHC to exempt Yar Muhammad Rind from personal appearance and dispose of the case within four weeks.
Tariq Mehmood, counsel for Rind, contended before the court that his client was implicated in a fake case, thus he deserved to be granted bail. Meanwhile, Rind told the court that his life was in danger in Balochistan, thus he may be exempted from personal appearance before the court.
Later, talking to media Rind said a conspiracy was being hatched to kill him by implicating him in a fake case. "If anything happens to me, Balochistan government and chief minister will be held responsible for it," he maintained. He said he had a history of enmity with the chief minister Balochistan and due to which he was hatching conspiracy against him by levelling baseless allegations against him. "Rind and Raisani tribes had a long history of enmity since early 1980s wherein Mir Essa Khan Rind, Sardar Taj Muhammad Rind (his father) and Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani (father of Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani) were killed in a tribal feud. Besides, as a result of this enmity between the two tribes, about 200 people have killed since 1980 to date," he added.
He said that presently he was one-man opposition in the Balochistan Assembly (out of 65 members). He said there were continuous threats not only to him but also to his relatives and tribesmen and for the reason he was not attending the assembly sessions, except on one occasion for the purpose of taking oath and that too under the cover of hundreds of bodyguards.
