A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court praying to restrain federal government from increasing electricity tariff and to declare all taxes levied on electricity bills as unconstitutional. The petitioner Ilamudin Ghazi advocate said the people of this country were paying taxes directly or indirectly on each and every commodity they buy.
The petitioner therefore prayed the court to restrain government from further increasing the electricity tariff and imposing taxes.
