The legend Golf Classic Championship between the 20-member Lahore Team and the 20-member Karachi Team has now moved to Abu Dhabi for the next round of their combat. In the previous championship held at the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club, Lahore, the Lahore Team had annexed the Champions Trophy and will be defending it in the contest on 5th and 6th March at two venues, the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club on 5th March and Abu Dhabi Golf Club on 6th March.
As per format of the Championship, two member squads would play the scramble match on day one (5th March) and four ball match plus singles match would play on day 2 (6th March). Total points at stake are 60 and the team aggregating 30.5 or more points will emerge as the successful one.
The teams are: Lahore, Haroon Arshed (Captain), Sardar Murad, Amir Mehmood, Omer Salamat, Asad Amin, Shahid Abbas, Tariq Misbah, Haider Malli, Haq Nawaz Tiwana, Ramzan Sheikh, Asad Agha, Faisal Syed, Dr Liaqat, Lieutenant General M. Tariq (Retd), Tariq Mushtaq, Imran Miraj, Ibrahim Qureshi, Syed M. Umair, Ali Irfan and Soofi Haris.
Karachi Team: Imran Habib (Captain), Ali Raza Haji, Aly Rana, Mansoor Teli, Danish Feroze, Omar Faruque, Rizwan Feroze, Nadir Leghari, Adil Haji, Arif Islam, Asad Shiraz, Rashid Malik, Mikhael Habib, Bilal Muneer,Omer Ahmed,Adnan Sohail,Taufiq Adnan, Qasim Habib, Bilal Habib and Hussain Kassam.
