One of the world's most successful venture capitalists, Tim Draper, has invested in Agroventures (Pvt) Ltd, a high-growth food and agribusiness company based in Islamabad. Draper is the founder and a managing director of international venture capital firm.
Draper Fisher Jurvetson, the investor behind companies such as Hotmail (MSFT), Skype (EBAY), Baidu (BIDIJ), Overture.com (YIIOO), and many others. He is also the founder of "viral marketing" in web-based email which was instrumental in the success of Hotmail and Yahoo Mail, and has been adopted as a standard marketing technique for hundreds of businesses.
Draper made the investment, the amount of which was not disclosed, in his private capacity. Other international investors in Agroventures include Augustus Limited, the investment vehicle of the Swiss Baron Lorne Thyssen-Bornmesza. Aamer A. Sarfraz, Founder of Agroventures said.
