'Ansar Burney Welfare Trust serving humanity selflessly'

Dignity is not something which one can achieve by doing something extraordinary but only by the purity of one's heart towards his cause. Ansar Burney's is such a dignified organisation which serves humanity selflessly, with complete purity of heart.
The passion behind selfless mission is visible by the milestones it has achieved. A visit on Tuesday to Ansar Burney Trust International (ABTI) head office showed the admirable passion and purity of heart of the volunteers here.
Human rights are inherent to all human beings, whatever nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, or any other status they possess. Everyone is equally entitled to human rights, without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible.
"Ansar Burney Trust is the first organisation which introduced true human rights in Pakistan. It was established in 1980 by Ansar Burney," Administrator Mehnaz Anwar said. With a mission to work as a non-political, non-governmental and non-profitable organisation, ABTI started fight against all forms of injustices, cruel inhuman and degrading treatment, child abuse, cruelty to women and other more subtle forms of human and civil rights violations, without any discrimination or affiliation.
ABTI is a network of human rights organisations working for equality and better treatment for every human being and for the rights and freedoms of civil liberties. Its work is to raise awareness, provide free legal advice and services and medical treatments to those in need.
ABTI's mission began with the establishment of the 'Prisoners Aid Society' in 1980. Since then, it has been involved in bringing reforms in police stations, prisons and mental institutions and work for the aid, advice, release, rehabilitation and welfare of the illegally and unlawfully detained prisoners and mental patients.
ABTI also works for the rehabilitation and welfare of the unfortunate families purely on humanitarian grounds in the greater interest of justice and humanity, without any affiliation or consideration for any political party, group or activities.
Since its inception in 1980, the ABTI has shown a marked and steady progress in achieving its vowed objectives and has started a number of centres for various projects both in Pakistan and abroad. ABTI is not affiliated with any government organisation or with any international one: it is purely working with its own resources and its donors' help. So, ABTI needs more donors to continue its welfare work, Mehnaz Anwar says.
