Visits to South Africa, UAE: LCCI gets significant number of orders

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has opened a new chapter of Pakistan's trade and economic relations with South Africa and UAE, as an eight member LCCI delegation returned after 14-day visit to the countries with significant number of business orders. The delegation also signed a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
According to the LCCI's spokesman, in both the countries, the LCCI delegation, headed by LCCI Executive Committee Member, Dr Shahid Raza, received a warm welcome by their counterparts and the officials of Pakistani Missions. In South Africa, the LCCI delegation was given a detailed briefing by M/s. IntegriFin Business on how to start business in Johannesburg. Business to Business meetings with South African counterparts were also held at South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry where Neren Rau gave a presentation on investment opportunities in South Africa.
During a meeting with SARCDA Trade Exhibitions (Pvt) Ltd, a detailed discussion took place for holding exhibitions in South Africa and single country exhibition between the two countries to be held in 2011 in Pretoria, South Africa. Paresh Pandya of the South Africa Trade and Investment Marketing gave a presentation on Investment in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa.
The LCCI delegates also had a meeting with South African counterparts at Trade Commissioner's office at Johannesburg while Zaigham Uddin Azam, High Commissioner of Pakistan in Pretoria arranged a lunch where upcoming trade events in South Africa came under discussion. Willi Riedel, President Greater Boksburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry gave a brief introduction about the chamber and discussed about the business opportunities in Boksburg, South Africa, he said.
The head of LCCI delegation, Dr Shahid Raza along with Logie Naidoo, Deputy Mayor, Durban and Fawzia Peer, Chief Whip, eThekwini Municipality, Durban, South Africa also addressed a business gathering of more than 500 people in Durban. Business to Business meetings were also held with the South African counterparts at Minara and Durban Chambers of Commerce, Durban, South Africa, he added.
Dr Shahid Raza, in an interview with LOTUS FM radio at Durban gave an update on available business opportunities in Pakistan. Business to Business meetings were held with South African Counterparts at Eastern Cape Development Corporation, Port Elizabeth while Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber and Eastern Cape Development Corporation also arranged dinner in honor of Pakistani businessmen. Memorandums of Understan-ding were signed between LCCI, Eastern Cape Development Corporation and Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber to enhance trade relations.
