People belonging to different walks of life have expressed deep concern over the increase in petroleum prices and said it will bring a cyclone of price hike in the country as a result of which common man's life would be affected. They said that people are already suffering from the prevailing price hike, and the increase would multiply miseries for them.
Commenting on the increase in petroleum prices, the exporter community said it would hinder exports because the cost of production would increase manifold. They pointed out that exporters and manufacturers are already under great stress due to electricity load shedding and non-availability of gas. Normal life activities and productivity have been crippled and resultantly, people are suffering from mental stress.
They said that government has failed in providing relief to the common man and business community and minimising duration of Sui gas and electricity load shedding. Under these circumstances, current increase in the POL prices is not expectable for the business community of this export-oriented city and hub of cottage industry.
