The College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) is determined to produce medical educationists of international standard in the country, said President CPSP, Professor Zafarullah Chaudhry. He was speaking at a two-day conference on medical education. The theme of the moot was "Competency Based Residency Education."
The objectives of the conference are to provide an opportunity to share experiences and research work; familiarise medial educationists with new concepts and methods in postgraduate medical education (PGME); and to recommend methods to improve PGME in Pakistan.
Medical experts from across the country and heads of medical institutions also attended the conference. Professor Zafar Ullah Chaudhry said that CPSP is the only institution of the country, which offers post-graduation in this important specialty. Vice President and Regional Director, Professor Khalid Masood Gondal expressed his views on different issues of medical education at the inaugural session of the conference. Professor S. M. Rab, founder fellow and former president of CPSP threw light on the importance of research in medical education.
