A complaint has been moved before the Chief Justice of Pakistan against the alleged misconduct of Mir Ibrahim Rahman, the CEO of Geo, with the counsel for Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (Pemra). The Pemra's counsel, Ali Raza, filed an application against the alleged misconduct of Mir Ibrahim Rahman with him.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry told Ali Raza that the court would take notice of this incident. According to the application, immediately after the conclusion of the hearing of contempt petition No 26/2011 on Tuesday, the counsel was standing outside the courtroom and talking to his client Dr Abdul Jabbar, acting chairman Pemra, when Mir Ibrahim Rahman came over and wanted to speak to Dr Jabbar.
As Mir Ibrahim Rahman was talking to Dr Jabbar, the counsel asked him that appropriate course of action would be taken if he files a written complaint with the Pemra that will be dealt with immediately. At this point, Ibrahim angrily hit the counsel in the chest with his one hand and pushed him with force to one side. He yelled at the counsel: "You are all liars". Ali Raza submitted the affidavits of Dr Abdul Jabbar, Junaid Jahangir, Ali Zeeshan Gondal and Shahid advocates along with the application.
