On the occasion of 50th National Day and 20th Libiberation Anniversary of the State of Kuwait I am honoured to felicitate His Highness the AMIR of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Prime Minister Sheith Nasser Al Mohammad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, and the people of the Kuwait on this glorious occasion.
The State of Kuwait and Islamic Republic of Pakistan together enjoy the common Islamic heritage and share views on many regional and international issues, and have always enjoyed cordial cultural and business relations besides of course the commonality of religious faith between the two brotherly Muslim states. This is to be mentioned here that Kuwait is Pakistan's third largest economic partner in the Gulf Co-operation Council.
The State of Kuwait attaches high value to its bilateral relations with Islamic Pakistan as both the countries share cohesive faith and values on all important regional and global issues.
The presence of more than 125,000 Pakistani nationals in Kuwait is a testimony to ever growing reliance and proactive relations between two countries, which have been appreciated by the Kuwaiti government. The Pakistani expatriate community is known for playing a major role in development of the State of Kuwait, this enabling Pakistan to benefit in terms of foreign exchange earning.
State of Kuwait was among the first countries that declared solidarity with the Pakistani people and initiated to extend a helping hand to 2005 earthquake victims by donating US 100 million Dollars. During 2010 flood, Kuwait extend a helping hand again to support flood affectees. The His Highness Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has given special instructions to allocate US 10 million Dollars on behalf of the government, while more then US 15 million Dollars contributed by the people of Kuwait during a major public and media campaigns organised by different government institutions, private and public sectors under the title (Kuwait with You) to collect donations to help the Pakistani people. In the meantime Kuwaiti government sent 12 special aircrafts for transporting the humanitarian supplies to the flood affected areas. As well as Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society team arrived in Pakistan to supervise aid distribution and buying some food items from Pakistani market.
Kuwaiti leadership is looking forward to extend closer co-operation with Pakistan in regional and international organisations to achieve the objectives of stability and security and sustainable development. His Highness Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has assured during his visit to Pakistan in June 2006 that Kuwait's commitment to fostering stronger bilateral ties in economic, trade and investment sectors. He clearly stated that Kuwait would like to benefit from the skills and expertise of Pakistani manpower in order to promote growth and development in the two countries.
