Islamabad Police during a special crackdown against anti-social elements arrested 10 outlaws and recovered one stolen car, drugs, valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from them, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Thursday.
He said that SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has directed all Station House Officers (SHOs) of Capital Police to remain vigilant against anti-social elements and launch massive crackdown against them in their respective areas. Special police teams were constituted, which succeeded in arresting 10 outlaws during the on-going operation, recovering looted items, drugs and weapons from them.
The Anti-Car Lifting Cell arrested two persons for possessing a Suzuki Mehran Car (LEA-9448) stolen from Baghbanpura Gujranwala who were identified as Imran and Yusuf and further investigation is underway from them. Industrial Area Police arrested two thieves Naeem Maseeh and Aseer Khan for stealing valuables worth Rs 40,000 and after preliminary probe police recovered the stolen items from the detained thieves.
Shalimar Police nabbed Waheed Ahmed and Nek Muhammad from sector F-11/3 when they were trying to escape from the scene after loading the stolen timber worth Rs 100,000. However, they were rounded up red handed with stolen timber. Margalla Police arrested two thieves Gulfam Majeed, a mobile thief and Haneef and recovered the stolen items worth Rs 200,000 from the detained thieves.
Golra Police arrested two persons Imtiaz Khan and Wakeel Khan for having 260 gram hashish and one pistol (30-bore). Cases have been registered against the detained persons under relevant sections of the criminal laws and further investigation is underway. SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of policemen who arrested the outlaws and directed to further intensify anti-criminals drive.
