Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Police Islamabad during the last 45 days have resolved mystery of two blind murders, nabbed 95 accused, busted five notorious gangs and seized illegal arms, drugs and stolen valuables worth Rs 5 million, said Naeem Iqbal, Spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Thursday.
The CIA Police resolved over 50 cases, busted five gangs involved in various heinous crimes and arrested 95 persons for their alleged involvement in crime of different nature and recovered ten pistols, one kg charas, 750 bottles of liquor and stolen items including gold ornaments, electronics and cell phones etc, the spokesman said.
He said that the Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation, Tahir Ayub on the directives of SSP Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan formed a team headed by DSP CIA, Bashir Ahmed Noon to arrest those criminals involved in crimes of heinous nature and also successfully investigate blind murder cases. Noon led special police team resolved 50 cases of heinous crimes and arrested a total of 95 accused, he said, adding that they seized 750 wine bottles, one kg hashish, ten pistols, gold ornaments and cash, he said.
The CIA Police teams also successfully traced two blind murder cases and recovered the dead bodies of the deceased after investigating from the nabbed criminals. Murder tools and snatched vehicles were also seized from the alleged assassin. Similarly, CIA police also busted five gangs of criminals and also arrested 23 accused who were involved in several crimes in the city.
The teams also arrested four proclaimed offenders namely Jehangir, resident of Bhimber Azad Kashmir, Zahid Hussain Shah, resident of Gujrat, Muhammad Haneef, resident of Fateh Jang, Naseer Gul, resident of Narowal who were involved in kidnapping for ransom and dacoities. Tahir Alam Khan appreciated the performance of the CIA personnel and announced cash prizes as well as commendation certificates for them.
