Member Customs, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Mumtaz Haider Rizvi has assured Pak-Afghan Traders Group that their problems would be resolved at the level of collectorate and those relating to FBR will be sorted out through mutual consultations.
The assurance was given to a delegation of the Pak-Afghan Traders Group comprising President of the group, Haji Gul Afzal Shinwari, General Secretary, Farooq Ahmad, members of the executive committee included Ishtiaq Ahmad, Shakeel Ahmad, Arooj Ahmad Ansari, Khalid Shehzad, Haji Khairullah, Jehandad Shinwari, Chairman, Sarhad Chamber Standing Committee on Dryport and Railways, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi and Chairman Standing Committee on Afghan-Transit Trade, Abdul Hameed Gurwara.
The delegation congratulated Member Customs, FBR, Mumtaz Haider Rizvi on his appointment and apprised him of the problems of the traders. The problems were included prohibition of shipment at Amangarh Customs Station, complications in the clearance of goods, registration of FIRs before completion of legal formalities.
Other problems were included the procedural difficulties in the export of open goods to Afghanistan in Karachi, delaying tactics in the examination of goods and clearance of goods imported under Afghan-Transit Trade and grievances relating to NCL trucks at Peshawar Cantt and City Transit Stations. The problems relating to export at Peshawar Dry Port were highlighted by Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi.
