Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Javed Zia and noted Scientist and Member Planning Commission on Science and Technology Dr Samar Mubarak called on Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani at Chief Minister Secretariat here on Wednesday.
They discussed matters of development of natural resources of Balochistan. They agreed to that Chamalang's coal reserves could be utilised for power generation and implementation of projects related to mines and minerals exploration and mining and utilisation of Balochistan's natural resources would result in development of the province besides boosting the economy.
Chief Secretary Balochistan Mir Ahmed Bakhsh Lehri and other senior officials were also present on the occasion. Dr Mubarak while appreciating the CM Balochistan's clear stance over mines and minerals mining issue said we have capability and resources to develop our natural resources to use them for development of the country and nation.
Referring to Thar Coal Field, he said generating power with the coal reserves of that field could meet our requirement of energy adding that projects in this regard had been launched at a large scale. Speaking on the occasion, CM Balochistan said the provincial government wanted to use natural resources of Balochistan for progress and prosperity of people of the province and economic development of the country adding that a comprehensive plan had been devised in this connection.
