First female teacher of Hunza Gilgit Baltistan passes away

Sultana, the first female teacher of Hunza Gilgit Baltistan (GB) passed away after protracted illness here at a local hospital. She was 75. The deceased left behind three sons and three daughters. Her Nimaz-e-Jinaza was offered here at sector G-9/1 and the body was despatched to her ancestral village Hyderabad Hunza for burial.
Late Bibi Sultana was mother of Dr Perveen Ashraf, former member of Gilgit Baltistan Legislative Assembly and sister of Shaheed Ali Madad (Sitra-e-Jurat) and mother in law of Ashraf Aman, known Pakistani climber. Bibi Sultana was widely respected by her community in Hunza Gilgit Baltistan, as a professional teacher and an active social worker.
