Former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Sunday that country is faced with numerous challenges and only honest leadership could resolve them. He was speaking here at the residence of a former provincial minister, Moinuddin Riaz Qureshi. He said that he was taking part in the country's politics for last 28 years. "Mine and my family's political career is transparent," he said.
He said the country is facing numerous challenges like unemployment, power crisis, terrorism, education and health. "Who would resolve these challenges?" he said, and also answered that "only honest leadership could restore confidence of people". He said that honest leadership is vital to attract investors, and investment in the country would lead to progress and prosperity.
He said there are two sections of people: one who earn locally and shift their capital in foreign countries, and the second those who earn in foreign countries and send money to Pakistan.
He said the nation will have to search for leaders from ranks of common men as the leaders come from gross-roots level. He expressed concern on governance system and said he has observed internal affairs of governance and found that apparently every thing looks okay, but factually the things are not up to the mark and public is not satisfied.
