Two policemen were killed in two separate incidents when unknown gunmen attacked a police vehicle in Peshawar and during a shootout with outlaws in Nowshera district on Saturday. Some armed men attacked a police vehicle in Nothia Qadeem during a routine patrolling near the graveyard, leaving Sub Inspector Nazar Ali and driver Zarshad injured.
When police fired back in retaliation, the gunmen fled from the scene. The injured were taken to Lady Reading Hospital where constable Zarshad succumbed to injuries. The victim's brother immediately arrived at the hospital. When he saw the body of his murdered brother, Zarshad, he got infuriated and opened fire in the hospital compound. No lives were lost in the hospital firing but some of the hospital machinery and the wall were damaged.
In another incident, ASI and two suspects were killed in police shootout on Charat-Nowshehra road. A gun-battle took place between police and wanted suspects resultantly an ASI Zahir Ali and 2 wanted suspects killed. Police raided the area of Jaroba to arrest some wanted suspects, but the opened fire at the police party. Three police officials sustained injuries and were later shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.
