Government to patronise literati: Zardari

President, Asif Ali Zardari said on Tuesday that the government would continue to extend patronage to poets, authors and intellectuals in the country. He was talking to author Dr Dawood Ahmed, who called on the president at Aiwan-e-Sadr. Zardari appreciated the author's work and said intellectuals play an important role in the national life.
He said that this year has been declared as the 'year of Faiz' to honour the legendary poet. On the occasion, Dr Dawood Ahmed presented a set of his publications to the president.
