Provincial Minister for Finance Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said that the situation of Pakistan is not similar to Egypt and Tunisia because in Pakistan democratic system is functioning and judiciary is working independently.
Talking to various delegations at his residence here on Sunday, the Minister said that people of Pakistan got rid of dictatorship after nine years and the present parliament was the symbol of democracy in the country.
He said that through 18th and 19th amendments to the constitution, the role of parliament has been improved and a balance has been restored in the powers of institutions. He said that Pakistan People's Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz were committed to resolve issues in the light of charter of democracy and policy of reconciliation would continue.
