Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 89,685 tonnes of cargo including 54,009 tonnes of import cargo, 35,676 tonnes of export cargo, 2,919 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 54,009 tonnes comprised of 8,674 tonnes of containerised cargo; 19,000 tonnes of coal and 26,335 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 35,676 tonnes comprised of 26,395 tonnes of containerised cargo; 9,281 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,496 tonnes of wheat; 2,092 tonnes of cement and 4,693 tonnes of gandum. Five ships namely Patton-1, Ital Glamour, Hanjin Beljinag, Manila Express and Hyundai General with general cargo and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Two vessels viz Williamsburg Bridge and Oriental Kerria carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
Five ships namely BBC Hudson, Unico Anna, MSC Jemima, Williamsburg Bridge and Fatima carrying general cargo, wheat, containers and cement expected to sail on Friday. Seven vessels viz Blossom, Shayan-1, OOCL Charleston, APL Guangzhou, Mariner, Xuan De Men and Mega Ace carrying ethanol, containers, vehicles, general cargo and wheat respectively due to arrive on Friday, while five vessels viz Daewoo Diamond, CSL Ride, OEL Shreyas, Bunga Raya and MOL Seabreeze with xylene and containers respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 95,305 tonnes of cargo includes 69,101 tonnes of import cargo and 26,204 tonnes of export cargo, 1,884 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 69,101 tonnes includes 38,873 tonnes of furnace oil; 3,900 tonnes of palm oil; 7,547 tonnes of chemicals; 6,361 tonnes of canola seeds and 12,420 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,204 tonnes includes 5,405 tonnes of wheat; 4,563 tonnes of rice; 3,564 tonnes of cement and 12,672 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely CV CMA CGM Puget, CV RHL Fiducia and MT My Antarctic with containers and edible oil sailed out to sea on Friday morning.
A total number of ten vessels viz CV CMA CGM Puget, CV RHL Fiducia, MV Trans Ocean, MV Bright Eagle, MV Alexi-1, MV Island Star, MV KT Al-Batross, MV Harsandi, MT My Antarctic and MT Mire are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, rice, canola seeds, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Seven ships namely STX Rose, KT Al-Batross, Khalid Bin Muuhieddin, CMA CGM Puget, Mire, Iron Monger-5 and Purbasari carrying project cargo, canola seeds, wheat, containers furnace oil and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz CV Safmarine and MT Purbasari carrying containers and chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday. Two furnace oil tankers namely MT Lahore and MT Quetta are due to arrive on Friday, while another ship namely CV Lobivia carrying containers is due to arrive on Saturday. A total number of four vessels viz CV Maersk Georgia, CV MSC Aurelle, CV MSC Anafi and MT Argent Gerbera with containers and palm oil are also expected to arrive at Port Qasim.
