Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has decided to launch skill development programme, in the first phase, for matriculation students in the districts of Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Lodhran and Muzaffargarh. The programme is aimed at training students about different beneficial technical and vocational skills.
This was stated by Managing Director PEF, Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani while presiding over a departmental meeting at his office on Friday. Wani said that education is a necessary talent, which gives confidence and strength to the youth to excel in practical life. He added that schoolgirls, in the southern region of the province, could be trained as schoolteachers by imparting them necessary English language competency.
The meeting reviewed the project of imparting technical and vocational skills to the students to improve their economic future. It was observed that the students should be taught English language as a beneficial skill. Also, education should motivate the youth to come forward to work for society.
The meeting agreed that students should be trained in line with market needs so that they may not end up as jobless persons. It was also agreed that education must help the youth realise their life goals. The meeting hoped that the skill development programme will help students emerge as a trained human resource of the country. Ali Sarfraz, CEO of Punjab Skills Development Fund, Sarah Saeed, PEF-DMD (Ops), Tanvir Ahmad Zaffar, PEF-Project Officer (Donor Relations) Samreen Sajjad and other Officers attended the meeting.
